Today when deciding what to do
my blog theme around, I decided the
"GRAMMY/ GRAMMIE"
Theme was a good one!

Tomorrow night is the
54th annual Grammy Awards on TV.
It is a show to honor music.
This year the Grammys are
honoring my favorite
"BEATLE", PAUL McCARTNEY
as he earns the
"Music Cares" award.

Ellen had the two little British
darling cousin cuties,
Sophia Grace and Rosie
on her show this past week
and once again Ellen has them
doing a red carpet. This time it is
at the GRAMMY AWARDS
tomorrow night on TV!

Last night I was flipping
through the channels on TV
and came across a great show called
"AMERICAN SONGBOOK"
with this week's episode
featuring pianist and singer,
MICHAEL FEINSTEIN.

I remember back in the days
when I took CDs out from the library to research good dance teaching music.
I first discovered Michael Feinsein then.
I found the history of the TV program
and of his knowledge of music
dating back to the Irving Berlin days,
so interesting. His mom was even a
TAP DANCER... which I didn't know!

I really think I grew up in the wrong era...
I love that old music from way back then.
To me the music in the 20's, 30's and 40's
had more meaning to the lyrics, and the melodies were just so  pretty.
Michael is from my era...
but he, too, enjoys the older stuff as well.
I think there might be another show on him next Friday night on the PBS channel.

I have not taken many recent
new pics of my
GRAMMIE AWARDS/ GRANDKIDS
so today with the lead up to the
GRAMMYS on TV I decided a repeat
of some already blogged pics
of my two cuties would work out fine!
I consider myself the luckiest
GRAMMiE around!!!


I will get lots of new pictures of them
when I babysit them during the week of February 20th-24th
which is a school/daycare spring break!

On a different "NOTE"...

Tonight Brian and I are joining friends
JOAN and GERRY
for an evening out for supper.
We haven't seen them in a while
so I'm looking forward to
our little outing together.

This weekend will be the

But I have earned two
"GRAMMIE AWARDS"
that fit me perfectly!
I got my first one,  back in MAY
of two thousand and six...
And then in AUGUST, twenty ten...
another GRAMMIE FIX!
When it comes to GRAMMIE AWARDS,
I really do feel blessed....
Because my special two
"AWARDS" truly are the BEST!

Keep Calm and SHUFFLE ON!

Today I am kind of lost in the 
"SHUFFLE" (ball change) of life!


... But as my t-shirt states...
"Keep Calm and SHUFFLE on!"



Sidetracked in the SHUFFLE of my day
in the new shirt and my old tap shoes! 


I got this t-shirt yesterday and it's
the perfect shirt for a TAPPER! 


For those reading my blog who are not TAP DANCERS...
"SHUFFLE" is the name of a TAP dance STEP! 


Putting my HEART into TAPPING today to the
SHUFFLE of tunes on my ipod! 


Instead of washing my floors...
I got SHUFFLING on them ...
and snapping pics...
You gotta LOVE it! 


Yesterday I joined my dance teacher friend, Brenda for a lunch.
She just finished a busy few days from a Baton competition ,
to Stars of Hope show, to a day of Tap exams...
so she has been SHUFFLING from one even to the next ...
as she often does! 


My doggie SHUFFLE (named after the dance step!)
is enjoying the sunshine in the family room .

picked them up from their daily activities! 


I said to the kids...
"SAY CHEESE"
And Beau proudly said
"CHEE!!!!!"

Out for a STARBUCKS today with my friend ELLA.
They have SHUFFLED from the red cups of the past season
 to the new HEARTY cups for Valentine's day coming up!

Today I truly have been lost in the
SHUFFLE (ball change) of life!


I had good intentions of making today a cleaning day... but as the day
SHUFFLED along,
I really got sidetracked!

I often have my ipod on SHUFFLE
playing lots of my favorite tunes,
as I clean, but today so many tunes
came on which motivated me to
DANCE instead of CLEAN!...
Imagine that... ME... SIDETRACKED!!!

I had bought this new t-shirt yesterday
with the saying
"KEEP CALM AND SHUFFLE ON"
on it which was kind of the
initial inspiration for my title
of today's blog!

When ever a great tune played
in the SHUFFLE of my ipod,
 I found myself TAPPING
until I finally went and got my
TAP SHOES from the basement!

The next thing I knew instead of a
dust rag in hand, I had my camera and
got snapping pictures of the t-shirt,
 me and the shirt...
and my tap shoes!
I can get so sidetracked ...
really lost in the SHUFFLE for sure!

But it is all good!
I had originally thought I would take
a day off from the gym today,
but I suppose I got my exercise
TAPPING and SNAPPING instead!

I ended up going for a coffee with
my gym friend, ELLA...
and STARBUCKS now has their new
HEARTY cups with Valentine's Day
coming up next week.
Those cups would have fit perfectly
in my previous BLOG THEME...
"HeArTs & StArS!"
hehehe (I was ahead of my time
with that one, I guess!)

Yesterday after doing my
TWO CLASS "TWOSDAY" at the gym,
I met my dance teacher friend, Brenda
for a lunch at a new restaurant
owned by a former dance student of ours.
She did lots of SHUFFLING with us
back in the day!

I picked up Jana's kids yesterday from
their activities and took them back
to their house until Jana
got home from work.
They were both such happy campers
and had fun playing together.
Mariah even put on a bathing suit and
created some cute little dances for me,
 and Beau grooved along on the side, too,
not to be left out of the SHUFFLE!

I enjoyed my two new TV shows
this week...
THE VOICE and SMASH.
Tonight I look forward to another
episode of IDOL...
I do SHUFFLE through many favorite
 TV shows in a week!
I have no trouble getting
lost in the SHUFFLE
with whatever I am into!

I will SHUFFLE on to
my poem of the day.

Today my plan was to
just clean my home...
But here I am writing
yet another poem!
I have put on my tap shoes
and tapped a wee bit,
But cleaning my house
just hasn't been it!
I've snapped a few pictures
of this and of that,
I got really side tracked,
right off the bat!
Although my intentions
are often real good,
I don't stay on track
the way that I should!
I'll try to "KEEP CALM
as I SHUFFLE ON"
Before I know it,
the day will be gone.
I dusted and vacuumed...
and moved the odd thing,
The songs on my SHUFFLE
made me dance and then sing!
Nice to switch things up
and just rearrange,
As I get lost in my day
and the SHUFFE (ball change!)
I guess we all need a day
sometimes like this,
To go where life takes us
and to follow our bliss!

STARS called "SMASH"!

I had a weekend that revolved around the themes of HEARTS and STARS...
thus today's blog theme!

I met my cousin Gwen at STARBUCKS
for a little catch up visit
on saturday afternoon.
We didn't take a photo of that visit,
but I included a photo of a visit
we shared there last fall.
We go often... but do not always
get a photo! We always DO
have a great visit, each time, though!

Saturday night I had a date night
with my hubby and sweetheart!
We enjoyed a nice supper at one of our
favorite restaurants called
St. Tropez Bistro.

Yesterday I went to a local show
featuring dancers from various studios
around the province.
The show was called
"STARS OF HOPE"
It was co-ordinated by
two dance teacher sisters,
Nicole and Nadine,
who years ago lost their mom to cancer.
They have made this an annual event
to raise funds for cancer research.

 Not only was it a great show and
fund raising event, it was a chance
for me to bond with my two girls...
Jana and Mariah.
I got to thinking back to when
Jana was 5
(which is how old her Mariah is now).
It made me have so many fond memories
of a mother/ daughter duo we did
in my year end show in 1986.
Jana and I went on to do
 3 other mom/daughter duos in her
dancing years!
Those are very HEART felt memories
for me for sure...
and hopefully for her as well.

One of the little captions on

I included in this blog is....
"Life is a dance
from one stage to the next."

How true this statement is!

Today BSOBAD has 22 students taking
their CDTA Tap EXAMS. I have done
dance exam themes since
1984 at my own studio.
The only themes I have repeated
in all those years co-incidentally are the
HEART and STAR themes!
I hold tap exams close to my heart,
therefore I will be tapping into my passion
as I think of the kids tapping
with all their heart at BSOBAD today.

Tonight I look forward to watching
another new TV program called SMASH.
It has had such a build up
and features a former
American Idol STAR!
Last night I tuned into the new series of
"THE VOICE"
and it will be interesting following
that show to see who goes on
to become a STAR there as well.

I have been putting my HEART into getting
to the gym a lot more lately and am
actually quite liking all the classes
I am taking there.
Today I am off to a combo of
CX works and Body Flow.
The instructors are not only good
at what they do, but they share
a lot of passion for their field as well.

So on that note...
A rather short poem for me today...

Each day when I begin it,
right from the very start...
I try to stay true to myself,
and always follow my heart.
I love how things connect
from close  to really far,
It adds a  sort of sparkle to my life,
and twinkles like a star!

DEDiCATiON!

             First of all I would like to thank

Although this photo

 is over 5 years old,
I am still very passionate and
DEDICATED to the art of TAP DANCING!
I gave a lot of DEDICATION
to the years I trained as well taught it, too.


This past week... I have been DEDICATED to
getting back on TRACK with my Weight  Watchers
and many classes at the gym. 


I would have to say that both Brian and I are very
DEDICATED GRANDPARENTS!
Here is our sweet grand daughter,
Mariah this past Wednesday,
at the frozen yogurt restaurant called PURE...
She is comparing her sprinkles on her yogurt,
 to all the fruit on mine!


It is not hard to be
DEDICATED to our grandkids...
Especially when they are as cute as this!
 Here is BEAU on Wednesday. 


For the past 10 consecutive dance seasons at
BSOBAD, I have DEDICATED time
and creativity to the studio bulletin boards.
This is one of about 10 now updated for February! 


I have been DEDICATED to the ELLEN show on TV
since it began. Not only do I adore her and her fun wit
and great sense of humor...
I love her DEDICATION to many other projects
from helping so many in their careers,
to people in needy situations.

These are only a few of the many DEDICATED

I have been a very DEDICATED
and loyal viewer of every single season of both the
AMERICAN as well as the CANADIAN versions of IDOL.
Although the Canadian run was short lived,
the American one is now into it's 11th season.

I was a huge ROSIE O'DONELL fan back in the 90's
when she had her first show. She now has a new show
with a very recent new format as well.
Here she is with a one on one interview recently,
with Kristen Chenowith on her very colorful new set.
I enjoy ROSIE... and am DEDICATED to her show once again.


My brother, Brian, is a big fan of the DR. OZ show,
so I decided to get on the OZ band wagon as well.
I loved his show yesterday when he spoke of cheating
on a diet as being good for you...
he referred to it as
"FAT-URDAY"... and I love that
concept as well as that name!!!
I now can add this show to the many I
 DEDICATE my time to, as well.

Today I am blogging about DEDICATION...
and I would be the first one to admit
that I often go beyond the term
"DEDICATED"
to maybe the term "OBSESSED!"
YEP.... what ever I am into...
I am fully into it,
WHOLE HEARTEDLY!

After DEDICATING much of my life
to dancing from childhood
through ownership of my own studio
 and on to working at another studio,
along with sharing my knowledge in
various summer schools and workshops
as well as adjudicating....
I would say I had and
still have DEDICATION.
I am proud of where that
DEDICATION brought me to, as well.

Now in this next chapter of my life,
I would say I am very DEDICATED
to being the very best GRANDMOTHER
 I can possibly be.
I am fully devoted to the title
"GRAMMIE D!"
After raising my own two children,
Colin and Jana...
I feel my dedication to being
their mother has only made me a more EXPERIENCED candidate
to be GRAMMIE D to
my two darling grandkids,
Mariah and Beau.
I feel so fortunate to live only
15 minutes away from them,
so get to spend lots of
cherished times with them, too.

This past week I have been making a
very DEDICATED effort to follow through
with my new year's resolution
of exercising more and eating less...
and trying to DEDICATE my self to
just simply paying better attention all round.
I have made it to GOODLIFE gym
every day this past week for
at least one class per day...
as well as tracking all my
Weight Watcher points on my iphone
"itrackBites" app.
I always feel better when giving it my all
and full DEDICATION.

I joined WW in January of 2009,
and became a lifetime member
on March 19, 2009.
I have continued to weigh in
monthly since then and am happy to report, have never had to pay for going over goal weight since becoming a lifetime member.
I think that qualifies as DEDICATION!
I do think it is a very sensible and flexible
life style to follow and very healthy, too.
Sometimes, I admit, I drift a bit,
but manage to get back on TRACK
when the scales start reading
higher weights again!

I am so DEDICATED to so many TV shows
as mentioned with the photos above.
I am ever grateful for PVR,
to record the ones I like
in their entire series and watch them
according to when time permits.
There are a couple more to add to my FAVORITES coming up as well next week...
so many shows... so little time!
OH BUT.... I will find time to
DEDICATE to lots of them.

In my 10 years of being on staff at
"Brenda's School Of Baton And Dance"
(BSOBAD)...
I have dedicated time and effort to keeping
the MANY bulletin boards up to date
with photos, information as well as theme related trims and decor and of course the occasional poem here and there!
It is a way of staying connected
to that studio and to dancing,
now that I have retired from the
"TEACHING" part.
It gives me a purpose as well
as a creative outlet.
Some boards are more creative
than others, but I do feel
dedicated to that job as well.

On top of all the above mentioned subjects,
I feel dedicated to all my friends
and family as well.
I appreciate and cherish times spent with
all of the many circles of people in my life!

I love to write my blog and
work it around a theme as well as
create a daily poem for it, too!
So on that note...
here is my poem for today...

Whether it's in working out,
or through my recreation...
I feel I put my heart into it all,
through pure DEDICATION.
I've always been one
who has loved a theme...
And also been known
to take that  to the extreme!
I guess whatever I do,
I try to do it full out...
To me that spells DEDICATION,
 for sure without doubt!
And if I cannot "TAP" into my very best...
Nor give my all to everything,
from LOVE to ZEST...
Then I really feel my
DEDICATION is lacking,
So it's then I get back on path
to try to keep on tracking.
By putting my best foot forward
day to day,
And blogging all about it
along the way!
I'll continue to watch  my TV
on each and every station...
And stay doing what I love most,
with PURE DEDICATION!

Another connection of sorts!!!
Yesterday I CONNECTED with my TWO CLASS TWOSDAY at the gym.
I came out to my car to find that someone had CONNECTED
 a bit too close to my car when backing out of the parking lot!

Today as I head into a new month in 2012,
I got to thinking of things that have made connections in my life.

The inspiration for today's blog theme
 was from a former dance student from the
early eighties connecting
with me on Facebook.

Her connection with me
got me thinking of how so many things
in my life are so very connected
in one way or another.

I feel so grateful for the 28 years
as owner of my
DIANE WILL DANCE STUDIO.
I connected to so many people
through those years
and the many things I did
in those years helped me connect to
 who I have become today.

I would love to RECONNECT
with those people again... and although  FACEBOOK has been a good form of connections to lots of the dancers
from my past... I still hope to
RECONNECT with them all some day
in a DWDS REUNION of sorts!
Anyone who can help me to make those CONNECTIONS is greatly appreciated!

After my friend, BRENDA,
from her dance studio, BSOBAD,
and I both lost our fathers suddenly
in the year 2000...
we connected in friendship
as well as grief over the loss of our fathers.

Two years later Brenda and I
CONNECTED further by blending
our two existing dance studios together...
which created way more connections
to more fun and fabulous dancers!
I feel so lucky for that connection...
and Brenda and I are friends to this day.

Since retiring from TEACHING DANCE
in 2008 I have remained on staff at
BSOBAD... to help keep the studio CONNECTED through
 the bulletin boards there!

I am also connected by being the proud grammie of Mariah who is now
dancing there as well.
It is like a full circle of
CONNECTIONS
in the dance world!

Today I am trying to CONNECT with my
new year's resolutions for this year...
I mentioned in a few of my recent blogs
how I am on a mission to
downsize, organize, exercise... etc...
and make "LESS is MORE"
my connection to a revitalized life!

I have had many connections to the gym already. Yesterday I did my first
TWO CLASS TWOSDAY...
where I connected to a
"Body Vive " followed by a "Body Flow"
class. Unfortunately... inspite of the fact
I felt great from doing the two classes
in effort to CONNECT to my exercise plan...
I came out to the parking lot to find a
huge scratch and dent on my car...
someone made too close a connection
to my car backing out...
too bad they didn't have the courtesy to CONNECT with me by
leaving a note on my windshield.

I went for a nice coffee with my friend,
Ella, who, I am so grateful for
CONNECTING with at the gym.
She has been a very lovely friend
for me and always encourages me to
CONNECT to my passions in life.

Recently Jana reconnected with her good AUSTRALIAN
friends, Naomi and Sheryn,
who she met originally in Japan
during their contracts as performers
in Tokyo Disney.

Yesterday I got a nice little note
via FB from Naomi thanking me for
bringing Jana into the world...
because  they have become
such good friends!!!
What a nice Connection
that was all round!

I connected to 2 great friends on FB
whom I have never met in person,
but who always comment on my FB
and or blog...
Coincidently... not only are they
connected to me...
but they are to each other, too,
by having the same name... ARLENE!
I'm ever grateful for the
constant connections!

I have been thinking how so many
people can stay connected
now a days with the computer.
Between email, facebook, blogging
and many other forms of communications... CONNECTIONS have become easier!

According to my blog stats...
people are connecting to read it...
but I only see numbers...and not names!

Today I am feeling a connection
to my Auntie Jean who is celebrating
her first Birthday in Heaven.
I feel so blessed to have celebrated
her special 95th Birthday
with her in person last FEBRUARY 1st.

Of course I feel lucky to be
always connected to my family and friends whether near or far, and I cherish so many things about all the connections
I make along the way.
I have really only touched on
some of the many connections that have threaded my life together,
here in today's blog!

So on that note...
here is my rhyme of the day...

But I feel more connected,
with what I like to connect!
I appreciate so much more,
the things that mean the most.
I feel there are so many things
of which I'd like to toast.
