Proud mommy, CARA
and her new little man, MASON!
This past Sunday the dance studio
hosted a fun filled BABY SHOWER for
dance teacher, MISS CARA
on the January 8th birth of her son...
"MASON WILLIAM"
It was very well attended by studio staff, dancers, and dance parents.
So many brought gifts with
"WINNIE THE POOH" in mind ,
as Miss Cara apparently has decorated
his room in a "POOH THEME!".
I've known Cara since she was
a young dancer herself,
as she once competed with my daughter,
Jana in their dance competition days.
When I closed my studio and joined the BSOBAD studio, I taught Cara and
was also delighted to have her
as a very efficient class assistant
for many of the TAP CLASSES
I taught there from 2002-2008.
NOW... MISS CARA and MISS AMBER,
both new "dance teacher- mommies",
are responsible for teaching the classes
my grand daughter, Mariah, is in.
Too bad Mariah was away this weekend
and had to miss this fun baby shower...
but... she might have seen
"WINNIE THE POOH"
while at Disneyland on the weekend!
Miss Cara was ever so delighted
and grateful for all that was done for her
as well as all the gifts she received.
She is such an appreciative gal...
and that is one of the many things
I LOVE about her!
She is always so heartfelt and sincere.
The Baby Shower was simply
"POOH"-FECT!
I decided to do a little
"WINNIE THE POOH"
research for this blog to tie
the theme together!!!
I was very interested to find out that
English Author, Alan Alexander Milne,
was born January 18th 1882...
(co-incidentally that is my son's birthday,
too, but years later... in 1979!)
Wikipedia said this about the author...
"A.A. Milne was best known for his books
about the teddy bear, "Winnie the Pooh"
and for various children's poems.
It was based around his own son, named Christopher Robin, with the various stuffed animals of his being the main inspiration
for the books' many characters."
I remember my mom reading the
Christopher Robin and Winnie The Pooh
stories to me as a child.
Here are a couple more
A. A. Milne quotes ...
"A little consideration, and a little thought for others, makes all the difference."
"If there ever comes a day when we can't be together keep me in your heart,
I'll stay there forever."
I got thinking how my Aunt Frances,
who the main Saskatoon Library was named after, also had a big "WINNIE THE POOH" influence on me personally.
I used to take my kids to the ever famous "POOH CORNER"
located in her library, for story times
when they were small.
That recently held it's
40th Anniversary in 2006 at
a Celebration held at the Library.
My Aunt Frances sadly just passed
away this past summer, at the age of 92,
but her name lives on for many
Library enthusiasts here in Saskatoon.
POOH CORNER is referenced a lot
in articles about the
FRANCES MORRISON LIBRARY
on Google!
Soon it will be St. Patrick's Day
and another THEME for me
to celebrate and write about!
I will share some fun pics for that,
too, in my next blog.
For now here is my poem for today!
I enjoy a chance for a fun celebration,
Made even better with such appreciation.
The BABY SHOWER was a
"POOH"-FECT affair...
With many a dancer in attendance to share!
It was done up in such
"POOH-RIFFIC" Theme,
It was "POOH"-LIGHTFUL"
to the max and the extreme!
Sweet BABY MASON was the
STAR of the SHOW!
With his Mommy, his Auntie
and Grandma in tow!
