SWEET CONNECTIONS!

"I've always known that life is better when you share it. I now realize it gets sweeter when you expand the circle."

"I define joy as a sustained sense of well-being and peace- a connection to what matters ...
What I know for sure is that you feel real joy in direct proportion to how connected you are to living your truth."

(both the above quotes were taken from my little book called
"Little Book of Lessons...Words That Matter"
and were both written by OPRAH WINFREY)

(The next quote was in the newspaper as
"the thought of the day" one day last week!)

"All you need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt."
- Charles M. Schultz

My SWEET grandkids
BEAU and MARIAH
CONNECTING so nicely ...
as they colored together last night!

Some little gifts we bought while on a
SWEET  CONNECTION to Edmonotn
from last Thursday till yesterday!
Above things for Mariah and Beau
which we delivered to them last night!

A bit blurry, but here is Mariah
modeling her
new layered look tops
from a new store called
JUSTICE!
( she also has her new
flashlight lipgloss on, too!)

Beau enjoyed his new cars, too,
from the Disney store!

This was a SWEET CONNECTION spot
for us on our little Escapade to Edmonton...
called "SUGAR BOWL"!
(We met friends Myrna and Larry
 for lunch there Friday)

So SWEET to CONNECT
again to my dance teacher friend, MYRNA.

Myrna's Husband, LARRY,
and Brian always hit it off
as they are both in car sales!

Another SWEET CONNECTION
we made in Edmonton ...
was running into Jana's childhood, buddy,
COURTNEY
at "CRATE & BARREL"
where she now works!

A SWEET ROMANTIC
evening out for a drink and meal with my hubby
at our hotel lounge called
"Murrieta's"

Brian and I always enjoy our
SWEET CONNECTIONS to JAPAN!
We had a meal here at the
TOKYO NOODLE SHOP
on WHYTE AV... YUM!

A late night SWEET CONNECTION with our good friends
WAYNE and SHELLEY
for drinks and appies
at the end of a long dance competition day for Shelley!

Another SWEET CONNECTION!
There was a "SECOND CUP"
located in the lobby of
the VARSCONA HOTEL
where we stayed while in Edmonton.
I loved the new MAPLE LATTES...
they were definitely SWEET!

Driving through a bit of  BLIZZARD- LIKE
weather on route home yesterday...
we were hoping to make a SWEET CONNECTION
to some better more SPRING LIKE weather along the way!

AHHHHH.....
RETAIL THERAPY!
I love making a SWEET CONNECTION
to stores we do not have here
whenever we visit Edmonton!

I love making a SWEET CONNECTION to
"BATH & BODY WORKS"
to stock up on some of their
SWEET SMELLING
products!

Both SHUFFLE and I were happy to make the
SWEET CONNECTION
upon our return to HOME "SWEET" HOME...
She is always pooped out after a few days at doggie daycare!

First of all I want to thank all of my
SWEET BLOG READERS
for always making this
CONNECTION
to tap in on my little life!
I love every chance that I can share my
SWEET CONNECTIONS
here with who ever cares to stop by.

Brian and I decided to get away
on a little impromptu escapade to
Edmonton the past few days.
It is a place of many
"SWEET CONNECTIONS"
for us... in fact that is where
I met him back in the 70's
on a blind date while in
Edmonton for a dance workshop!

I met my dance friend, MYRNA,
when I was 17 at a dance summer school.
She and her dancing family were my
SWEET CONNECTION
to all the DANCING
I've been involved with in
EDMONTON.

I did a bit of competing there following
meeting MYRNA,,
and that is where I
also met friend, SHELLEY.

Shelley and her daughter, Stacey,
also had a big influence on
Jana in her training years growing up,
choreographing and teaching
many of Jana's solos.

I went on to taking students
to compete in Edmonton
throughout my dance studio career.
I also later taught some summer schools
for both Myrna and Shelley at their dance studios in Edmonton.

I had a few adjudicating experiences in Edmonton over my dance career
in addition to the above mentioned
SWEET CONNECTIONS!

My brother, Brian,
lived in Edmonton briefly in the 80's.

Jana and Nels lived
there for a few years, too.
That is where my first Grandchild,
MARIAH was born in May of 2006.
Mariah and Beau's other grand parents,
Nancy and Arvid also live in Edmonton.
We tried to CONNECT with them this past weekend, however, our plans
fell through this time,
due to Nancy being under the weather.
The weather was not great either!

An attempt was made to
CONNECT with my friend,
Linda's daughter, TERESA, too.
She danced in my studio back in the day
as well. We tried, but next time
we will plan earlier so we can
make that another
SWEET CONNECTION!

Brian loves that drive,
so he always suggests it
when he gets enough time off
to take a little escape!

We had some
SWEET CONNECTIONS
to things we both like.
On route there we tuned into
"smooth jazz" and coming home
 tuned into "60's on 6"
both on the satellite radio.
We did lots of reminiscing
on our way about all of our
SWEET CONNECTIONS
in our life!

We also did some things on our own,
while there,
I did my WHTYTE AV shop along
with some Mall shopping,
while Brian did some car, boat and
motorcycle dealership runs!

We did enjoy many restaurants
and good visits with friends.
We did a stop in at the casino even...
but only lost there...
I was hoping for a
SWEET CONNETION
to some bonus money!

And no trip to Edmonton
is complete without the stop at IKEA!
We looked at some new furniture,
but decided to wait on that purchase
till another trip.

I was ever so grateful for my iphone
to help me stay
CONNECTED along the way.

We made a SWEET CONNECTION
with our grandkids last night
to deliver their gifts.
We picked up some pizza on our way
and had a quick supper there, too.

Today I need to CONNECT to the studio
and update the bulletin boards there...
the Easter stuff can come down now!

Tomorrow is "BSOBAD" studio owner,
BRENDA'S BIRTHDAY.
She also has some dancers performing
at the half time show of the
"HARLEM GLOBE TROTTER'S"
show in town.
That is another
SWEET CONNECTION!!!

So on that SWEET NOTE,
time for my rhyme of the day...

Every now and then
it feels really very sweet,
Just to take an escapade
and have a small retreat!
It's always great to meet with
friends of ours from years ago.
And do the things that we enjoy
and just go with the flow.
A little retail therapy
is awesome for the soul...
And eating in new restaurants,
like at the "SUGAR BOWL"!
Connecting with sweet memories
that brought us all together,
Inspite of crazy, unexpected
WINTER kind of weather!
A little trip down memory lane
while chatting on the way.
We just connected to a lot of things
with much to say.
With all the things about it
and the people that we know...
Edmonton is just a
SWEET CONNECTION
place to go!
But after a wee trip away,
the SWEETEST part for me...
Is when I get back
HOME SWEET HOME,
to where I like to be!
